About John Deere apprenticeships

Your first step to a career with a bright future

JOHN DEERE WEBSITE

A John Deere apprenticeship combines training, problem solving and team work with paid employment at a John Deere dealership. There are three different apprenticeship schemes so, whether you’re into high tech engineering or sophisticated parts and service support, choose the one that best suits your interests and talents.

You will work at a John Deere dealership but also spend time at the John Deere Apprentice Training Centre and at John Deere’s Head Office, both near Nottingham. You are supported by a designated Learning Advisor and by your employing dealer, gaining valuable workplace skills by undertaking practical tasks and experiencing real-life challenges. You will be provided with an individually tailored learning plan, with progress monitored by your Learning Advisor who will make regular visits to you in your dealership for on the job review and guidance.

“Apprentices are a fundamental part of our dealership business. We like to grow our own talent by investing in young people, and we like to recruit from within to offer new opportunities. For us, the future is very much in apprenticeships.”

Updates

Turner Groundscare will keep you informed regarding progress with your application on a fortnightly basis via email.

Selection Tests

A member of the ProVQ Recruitment Team will conduct a selection test and interview. The selection test includes an English, maths calculator, maths non-calculator and mechanical problem solving assessment. These assessments are a mandatory requirement for apprenticeships and must be completed.

If you have already has some experience in this area, or had already completed some training, you will be required to sit a progression test to establish your current levels of knowledge. This is important to ensure your start point on the programme is appropriate.

If the result of the selection test indicate that you may struggle with the programme, you may be required to complete additional diagnostic assessments. This is to identify if any additional support requirements may be needed.

Work Trial and Interview

We believe its important that an interview and work trial is carried out for every applicant at Turner Groundscare under the John Deere Apprenticeship. This allows us to see how the applicant would fit in our business, this also allows you the candidate to demonstrate attitude and aptitude for the job role, and equally as important, gives you a good understanding of what the job involves.
